About this event

  • 14 hours

Join us on Friday 24th May 2024 from 6pm for an eye-opening night spent sleeping in cardboard shelters in support of Trinity Winchester.

Enjoy on-stage live music and entertainment from the likes of Integr8 dance and 5hades of Grey, and delicious food from local vendors such as Piecaramba. Our well-being area this year includes 3 bell tents with many activities. Relax and unwind with a yoga or reflexology session or have a go at one of our adult and children craft sessions on offer.

Create your own cardboard shelter to be in with a chance of winning prizes including vouchers for Clue Capers escape game. Categories are Best Individual Shelter, Best Family Shelter, and Best Corporate Shelter.

Winding down, we will listen to a bedtime story read by a celebrity before all non-sleepers depart at 11pm.

Join us for a night under the stars in our homemade cardboard shelters to raise vital funds and awareness for Trinity's work with homeless and vulnerable people in Hampshire.

It may not be your most comfortable night's sleep, but it will be one of your most rewarding.

Every penny that you raise in sponsorship will go back into Trinity’s services, offering long-term, positive change.

We ask participants to raise a minimum of £100 (or £50 for under 18s) in sponsorship for Trinity. Anyone who raises £150 or more will receive a free Big Sleep Out t-shirt.

Non-sleepers welcome!

Recommended age for children is 7+. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is not an experience of being homeless. We cannot imagine the realities of sleeping rough every night. We will return to the comfort of our homes the following morning, which is not an option for thousands of people. This event is an interesting way to raise vital funds, whilst having a challenging night.

Trinity is a local charity providing a wide range of support to people who are suffering the effects of homelessness, domestic abuse, unemployment, mental and physical ill-health, addiction, and social isolation.

From the drop in day service in central Winchester, over 600 people a year are given free, non-judgmental, practical and emotional support to move into more suitable housing, employment, and gain increased confidence.
